Finally building an HTPC - Page 3

If you think 300W would be sufficient power, maybe the Sugo SG05 or SG06 by Silverstone would fit the bill. {Review by SilentPC}

What if I tried a PicoPSU? I thought that maybe removing the PSU in my case and replacing it with a fan to blow cool air onto the mobo would probably lower temps a bunch. The biggest I have seen is 150W, will that even be enough?

If you don't use a GPU 150W is plenty.

Just remember to also check the wattage of the power brick. Last time I looked 120W bricks were the largest.

There are some big ol' bricks out there. Apparently Dell used a 220W one!

I don't use a GPU, so the 150W should be enough? I know that logicsupply sells a 150W kit with a 150W pico PSU, and I'll try and pick up a GT for good airflow.

Yup it'll be ok. To be safe you should undervolt the CPU to the lowest voltage possible where it's still stable, but yeah it'll be fine.

Undervolting the processor seems to not work on the mobo. I tried to set it to -.10 from stock and it boots, but displays 1.25 in CPUz. I might try finding a 200W brick and PSU just to be safe.

CPU-Z isn't really accurate, all it does is read the value in a register in the CPU. And god only knows where that value is coming from.

Well, I think I think I found a 200W setup from mini-box so the more watts the safer I feel.
