LOL!! Pc2700 Ram running at 200 mhz!!

Thread Starter
I was playing around with my XP Mobile and just got it up and running as a second rig again. The only memory I had was a 512 stick of PC2700 DDR. Its a SimpleTech brand. But I'm running it 1:1 @ 200 mhz. Timings are kinda terrible at 3-4-4-8 but hey its doing it! Who would have thought it. I did not think it would run at this speed.

Why wouldnt it? look at the timings table, it clearly shows what timings the memory can run at...

Alot of cheap ram has OC ability just at worse timings, I've had 2100 stuff up to 2700 but it wasn't worth running because of the timings so I replaced it with a stick that had much better timings.

will it go any further?

The RAM sticks that Some_Idiot2 have just sold to me where 2x256 PC2700 Dual Channel and he overclocked from 166mhz to 266mhz! 100mhz overclock and still stable. Amazing.

Hmm.. That's very good. But anyone checked the manufacturer ? It's Micron -Very good !!! Why don't u try finding the limits of ur memory, Wudaddy ? Maybe u got very lucky with the chips on the module.
