xquizit's $2,500 Gaming Paradise! - Page 10

I have to add a atp-ad700 to that list...U heard my monitor pick is great for no input lag, even though it doesn't have RTC (which I don't know much about).

I love my MX-518! Not sure if I want to switch over to the DeathAdder, unless the palm grip is a better feel for fps gaming. Furthermore, does the DeathAdder have better tracking than my MX-518?

While I'm not supprised to see the sennheiser headphones suggested, I have to suggest the sony MDR series. I've owned two for over 8 years now, and they still sound better than most anything else i've heard. My brother is a sound engineer in a LA studio, and all they use are these Sony MDRs.

the MDR v6 are the regular ones, amazing quality & build, can take a serious beating

The Sony MDR 7506 are the industry's standard, IMO Look at all the pictures of your favorite artists in the studio, and you'll see this headphones little blue emblem "PROFESSIONAL" staring back at you. I use these for gaming and swap them back to my stereo for music or movies when the wife's asleep.

These arent gaming headphones, these are great headphones, and I use them for everything.

I am a MC, but not a rapper...yet. I have no need to really go this far, and get with the program. I do want a gaming headphone, and my question is: Doesn't it make a huge difference hearing footsteps, instead of a huge explosion from the bass? I mean if you suggest these over the AD700s & Sennheiser 550s, can you explain a lil' bit why?

Let alone you mentioned the industry, and how the music people most definately use these. I just want these for gaming, and music I'll leave that to when I have a chance to go to a studio (and hopefully record).

Once again, thank you for replying! I just saw the BF BC2, and I must say... COD4#2 just slipped my mind, and joined the cookie monster in his trash can.

sure thing.

Price and Tightness.

the v6 headphones are $60-65 dollar, and are almost the same as the 7506 (different warranty is main reason for cost difference)...this puts it at half the price of the Sennheisers.

Sound / Tightness.
like the Sennhesiers, they are over-ear solid peices, whereas the AD700s are open air...While these arent noise cancelling, they do a great job of noise dampening, and really help you get into the game, even if someone is 10ft to your left watching NCIS like they are deaf.
But the sound is incredibly tight and detailed...its not just the quality of sound on explosions and such, but the littlest sounds have incredible depth to them....i've heard new things in games and songs i had forever, when i first got these. Not to sound any more like a complete fanboy, but these guys showed me parts of sounds/songs i had never heard the previous 100 times.

IMO, you cant getter a better set, for the price.

Holy moly...thank you for filling me in, and I'm so baked <it's hot>... I just saw your name!!!!!!!!!! haha nice, and would you recommend the higher model for the warranty? I do want my computer to last a good 5 years, because if I get a car... I know my money will go into it, because my first car I never got a chance to do so (and the lease was up).

my older pair of MDR-7506's is 8yrs old and still doing fine...the only wear is on the ear pads, and they're replaceable.

but i did some reading up on the v6's and considering the # of reviewers with 10yr old ones that they still 5-star, and that the pads are replaceable on the v6's too, if I had to get another pair, i'd get the v'6s, and save $30.

Hope this helps with your decision, enjoy the sick new rig!

I really want enjoy the rig, but I've came across a lot of problems looking for a monitor/resolution to play on/at.

Battlefield Bad Company will make this rig delay until March. Sadly, things might even change..but I think your headphone choice will stay the same. That $30 bucks will be tax for the parts, and I really do appreciate the review on the V6.

I really want to wait, because I've learned it pays off to be patient.
