Thanks guys ... Solved "Disabling" the onboard video without updating the bios yet, ... really it fixed itself when I unmounted the quad 295's and put a temporary single 460 GTX in, I was then able to disable
780a/onboard VGA in the bios ... weird
I will get around to updating the bios as the funnest part for me is Overclocking
, but have to get the basics all set up 1st ...
AND a friend talked me into selling him the Quad 295's ... one thing leads to another, new VGA's single or SLI and should I leave room for a soundcard? ...
"What is the best gaming "Sound" solution for this board (footsteps far away and behind you, bullet effects ... etc)?" My old setup had an Audigy 2ZS that I liked a lot. I unfortunately am one of those guys that can tell the difference, between a "good" soundcard and "onboard" sound.
I can find no info on how good the "onboard" sound specs are and haven't had time to do realtime tests with my old Audigy 2ZS PCI card vs "onboard" sound. Does "Destroyer"onboard sound even support EAX?
What does seem evident is if the onboard sound isn't up to snuff (for me it probably won't be) and for the PCI-e 1x slot more than likely covered up due to SLI ... can I plug a new soundcard (PCI-e X) into one of the PCI-e 8x slots, the bottom one (#4)? ...
OR can someone confirm for me that slots 1 & 3 are identical PCI-e 16x lanes and if I plug a single VGA solution into slot #3 (PCI-e 16x?) it will perform the same as a single card in slot #1 (top of the MB/PCI-e 16x) leaving access to the PCI-e 1x slot?
I like using both headphones and my still cranking Logitech 5.1 620's speaker system ...
any and all opinions greatly appreciated!
