Need help with P4 630 Overclock - Page 2

No sweat, I'll keep searching for you as best I can, and post and hopefully get you a little bit further.

In your User's manual, Page 3-22 Set your system memory frequency to 400MHz. This will keep the CPU: DRAM speed at a 1:1 ratio.

Yea that 400mhz mem speed would fix everything for me i guess,but.. there is no 400mhz option on my bios :\\ however mobo's guide says there is as you have pointed.

thats what i'm talking about, should i go for an older bios?

I've tried bios versions 1.4 > 1.3 > 1.2 > 1.1 none of em has 400mhz or a fsb/dram ratio option, looks like i'm stuck here I've mailed MSI about this,i hope they will give a helpful reply. Getting a ddr2 667mhz memory would be too expensive for me cos i cant sell my 533s and i was planning to buy a new graphics card. I'm sure this cpu can go 260fsb easy with cnps 9500 but.. oh boi gimme 400mhz pls

(PS:The user's guide is for 945P series, there is a "NEO" and a "Platinum" in this series but they both use same bios.)

Pls advice on my system overclocking issue

i notice that Gigabyte 945 chipset motherboard can't support overclock?
i use GA-8I945GME, GA-8I945GMH-RH

both can't shown the option to overclock in BIOS under Frequency & Voltage control

i refer to menu it mention that the CPU Clock ratio setting only show up when used with a processor that support this feature

if anyone out there know about this let mi know, im not sure is the motherboard or CPU can't support for overclocking....
best if can email to jnkcss@hotmail.com

Thanks alot

i have a p4 630 and have reached over 4ghz, with air cooling and my memory is 667 eplida, which is extremly cheap, you should try putting your memory speed to 533 and over clocking slowly also, try doing a bios update because before i got a new psu and bios updated i cud only get bout 3.6 MAX
now i easily get higher. check your temps

Hi all, I have been trying to find a way to overclock my new Gigabyte 8I945GMF mobo and Intel P4 630 3Ghz processor to no avail. Am convinced it's my mobo as everyone else seem to be able to overclock their processors.

I've contacted Gigabyte on several occasions but nothing they've suggested seem to do the trick, if anyone out there has come across this then I'd appreciate your input.

JNKCSS, any progress??
