AMD vs. Intel Benchmarks

Thread Starter
I know people always say AMD is better for gaming then Intel, but how are the benchmarks? How much does AMD win by? Could someone link me to a review of an Intel system against a similar AMD system?

Well, since benchmarks are pretty much made to see how good a computer will do in games, it's pretty simular to gaming. A64's do better in benchmarks such as 3Dmark, and Aquamark, but then intel usually does very well(comparing) in SuperPI and Sandra. Really depends on the application, but really the videocard is the most important

Plus, if you want to see the benchmarks between Intel and A64's, go over to the bechmarking comp and the Top 30. And yes, I realize i'm not in that thread, do to technical difficulties

In most cases they win be pretty sizable margins (+10% in some games).

The way I see it though, if it plays the games I have at a rate that is good for me, I'm happy.

The reason intel wins in like superpi and sandra is because amd has a slight upper hand in gaming but a little slower in everything else. So an amd may beat an intel in like say 3dmark, but when it comes to # crunching that is when the intel gets its turn to shine.

Or the intel's shined when the AMD duel cores were not out....

HA, but even though I am a total amd guy I woulden't mind having an intel xenon for folding.
