Intel SLi Board

Thread Starter
Okay, I ahve wanted an Intel Sli board for a long time now and I had my sights set on the P5n32 board because it does overclock but apparently MANY are having serious data loss issues with raid and not able to overclock over 240-250 mhz fsb.

So now I am back to the drawing board, I need an LGA 775 socket with sli and has to be good over clocker, also preferebly ddr2 but not required.

MONEY IS NOT A LIMITATION!!

Please give me your input

Any of those should be good. I personally haven't used them, but all should be good for an Intel SLI board.

In that case, I would wait just a little longer. Rumor has that a desktop board for Yonah cpu's is coming out, which supports SLI, and possibly Crossfire also.

Since SLI is proving to be a market worthy investment for both gpu and motherboard manufacturers, my guess is that we will see some enthusiast boards that support SLI and overclocking; in the near future.

Thats what I'm waiting for...any intel sli board has the same NF4 chipset and the same issues. I'm hoping the 975x is a little more overclock friendly.

No, that's the desktop board. Fugger from XS said that a board design does exist for Yonah cpu's which uses an Intel chipset that supports SLI.

I have the P5N32-SLI Deluxe and have 650 CPU ( 3.4 GHz ).
I can run stable at 4.165 GHz ( 245x17 ) on air with my Zalman FS-C77 cooler.
FSB is at 980 MHz and my RAM is at 770 MHz.
So all in all, I think a 0.7 GHz OC is pretty respectable on air with this "problem" board.
It's funny how the data sheet raves that this is a great OC'er as it has 8-stages of power regulation, etc.

I am thinking of getting the ASUS P5WD2 Premium board with 955 chipset, as everyone says that is a great OC'er.

DDR2 is a must for performance and it is "foolish" to say DDR will suffice.

To SLI or not to SLI ?
Unless you intend to max out your PC now with 2 7800 GTX's ( 256 or 512 ) you are always better off selling your 2 6000 ( 6600 or 6800 ) series cards and going to a single card -> one 7800 GT or one 7800 GTX.

Yeah I got a 7800 GT OC from BFG and plan on gettin a second one when I get an SLi board but if you read my other thread on my current setup: (http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...ion-guide.html)
You will see the problem with this one. I currently run 4.05-4.19 without porblems and the temp never exceed 50 C, actually stays around 35 but I am limited because of my memory with cant exceed 400 mhz and is BS if I want to go farther. So I want a board that I dont have to increase the PCI-E speed to overclock the CPU, besides being a dumb way to oc a board. I mean a 915 board doesnt score very high on 3dmark. I just got 78000 aquamark but I know i can get higher.
And No, brand is not a limitation.
