X1900XT Will have 48 pipelines each and in crossfire mode thats some odd 96. Two 7800's in SLI already match the piplelines *to my best knowledge* and all the new consoles really have similar specs. What's going to set them apart is looks, Functionality and most importantly game contracts.
Ew.. rap and hip hop. Screw that. NONE of my friends listen to rap or hip-hop. And god forbid we want a fifty cent game.. Yay all these little kids can now learn how to be gangsta .. Great as if society didnt have enough cursing little kids as is.

What is this "boot up" of which you speak?

I never turn my PC off. The only time it gets rebooted is when Windows Update downloads a patch that requires it (or when something crashes, of course...it is Windows, after all.)

Consoles do have one advantage: PRICE! I personally prefer PCs for gaming but more people (or parents, as the case may be) will shell out $400 for a console with a refresh cycle of 4-6 years than $1000+ for a PC that's obsolete in a year. As for which console is better, look at the games! You should buy the console that has the best games (in your opinion). What's better, a console with a little better graphics and some minor extra feature, or games that you really enjoy playing? Anyway that's my 2cents.

Even though PC's are "obsolete" as soon as you buy them, that doesn't make them unusable. I doubt my 2.7Ghz AMD will be unusable in 5 years... I know of a lot of people who use AthlonXP's and game fine. One clear advantage that PC's have over consoles is upgradeability. Good luck upgrading your PS2 to make it run PS3 games. Likewise, on a PC, if a new generation of games come out, you an upgrade your video card, or some other part of the PC to make it run. You also have the option to "turn the detail down" which you don't have on a console. Can any of the new consoles play games that came out 5 years ago? I guarantee my PC can play EVERY game that came out for the PC 5 years ago. And it'll still be able to play games that will come out in the near future. I've got a video card that came out a couple of years ago and can still play every game that is out today. So that pretty much negates the price argument. With consoles, you have to buy a completely new one whenever the next generation comes out. With a PC you can either upgrade, or run it with the settings that you can run it with.
