Ah, forgot that you are ac across the pond. Any way to open the game save backup and see what game saves are in there? I believe i backed up GTA4 before it stopped showing, but it doesn't ask me to restore because it isnt detecting it. Therefore i dont know if its actually in the backup file or not.

there is a way, but its encrypted, just gonna check now to see what u can possibly do regarding looking inside the backup, btw how big is the backup ? (kb/mb wise)

edit: ill have to wait till Matt is awake again, the backup is encrypted in such a way that i cant access it anymore... i guess matt messed around with it since i kept messing around with my backup archives xD

Hi, I have problems downloading the latest version. It would download up to 12% or sometimes more than 50% and would suddenly stop. Do you have any mirrors for this file?

Thanks

Someone else told me about this yesterday.
After a while, we discovered that adding a simple .txt file to %DOCUMENTS%\\Rockstar Games\\GTA IV.
GSM is looking for files in multiple directories, and thus isn't listing it because one of the directories is empty.

I'll definitely look into this for the next build. For now though, create a folder %DOCUMENTS%\\Rockstar Games\\GTA IV and just add a file (of any kind in it).

I've just created a torrent for the latest version. Just waiting for it to be processed now.
You can find it (once it's been processed) here.

Hi I got the installer from the torrent and when I tried to install I get an error

"The application has failed to start because it's side by side configuration is incorrect..."

So I checked the event viewer and got this from the SidebySide and got this...

'Activation context generation failed for "x:\\gs_mngr_v1.4.1594.exe". Error in manifest or policy file "x:\\gs_mngr_v1.4.1594.exe" on line 0. Invalid XML syntax.'

Using win 7 x64.

That's very strange.
Can you compare the setup's MD5 hash? It should be 85BF6FEDC0BC6406F0CAADB6BE6EE4C2.

---------------------------------

Edit: After googling this, I've discovered that it's a VC++ issue:

Quote:
I uninstalled AVG first (not sure if really necessary)
Uninstall VC++ redistributable in control panel - programs and features (If 2 copies, uninstall both)
Reboot
Reinstall the VCredist package
Reboot
Voila!
