thats the idea, especialy since steam backups games them selves,
what this program does is backup your game saves and quite a few other stuff like profiles for games for windows live, control settings, even teampseak server listings, and it wraps it up into one secure archive (i dont know of anyone trying to hack into the actual archive yet) adding Game Backups would make the archives huuuge the idea of gsm is to try and potentialy make the backup as small as possible so it can fit on pen drives etc, also gsm can run from a pun drive

need anymore info ill gladly provide

Thought so. Thanks, awesome program though. Can anyone confirm that the saves on MW2 work?

i cant confirm but u can test it... gsm will list where the game saved directory is,

1)to test this just backup mw2 only with gsm,
2)backup that specific location manualy (so u have 2, one with gsm and one thats manual)
3)remove that specified gamesave location and see if your gamesave has disapeard (go into the game to confirm its gone)
4) restore with gsm and see if the gamesave reapers
5) if done correctly that should confirm that it worked

note: game save backup might display several locations, if so backup each one manualy for this test purpose

hopefully this would help. i have personaly played mw2 and havent had direct contact with the person that supplied the game save location, but ill check to see if there on this thread

As far as I'm aware, it backs up your Modern Warfare 2 gamesave perfectly (or at least no-one has claimed otherwise).

Do as GekzOverlord suggests if you wish to make sure GSM has indeed backed up your gamesave.

Don't say that lol
That's like the famous last words

The backup archives created are double-encrypted (in a sense)... Assuming you have the "use enhanced security" option ticked.

Just thought I'd note a game that is supported but wasn't picked up -
Trials 2: SE - wasn't detected during scan with and without full STEAM scan (it's a steam copy so maybe this affects it).

Games I would like supported (all STEAM unless otherwise noted) -
RACE 07
Obulis
XPand Rally
GTI Racing
ToCa Race Driver 3
Sid Meier's Railroads (not STEAM)
Official support for all the Lego games (Lego Indy and Batman etc.) - (not STEAM)

All in all a great program

All in all a great program
hopefully InsaneMatt will be online soon so he can help out abit more
in the mean time this should help "Submitting a game"

also with trials 2 SE, if u could find where it saves to and test it with the custom game save entries with some instructions i posted earlier

substitue mw2 with trials 2: se and u should get the picture hopefully

edit: you can also manualy add in your steam details instead of autmaticly (i think it automaticly detects on default)

Done. The gamesave folder was -
Code:
C:\\Users\\USERNAME\\AppData\\Local\\Redlynx\\Trials 2 SE\\2.0
Manual add worked, deleted and settings were back to default. Did a restore and my savegame was successfully restored.

Do you also backup replays as they are in a different folder.

Thanks.

InsaneMatt hasnt thought about that at the moment, maybe it could be a new feature to GSM who knows?, at the moment replays havent been added but i guess if there not too big they can be added, i guess it still goes under the GameSave Manager idea since the idea is to backup your profiles/gamesaves/configurations, so in theory i would say Matt will most likely add them if you ask him nicely xD

Thanks for the location, ill get Matt to check it over with what he added,

btw, just for some feedback, did you think it was simple to add in your own custom gamesave ? and if you think it could be simplified how ?

Will do the rest later
