You sure? It's not much trouble to do.

It basically involves TRYING to break GSM; GekzOverlord is the king at that lol

I'll keep you in mind next time I make a ALPHA Release.

I've set it to backup the WHOLE "SimBin\\RACE 07" directory.
If you include that whole directory it will also include replay files, which are often quite hefty (5MB). I'm good at breaking things too lol. I'd test it in a virtual machine anyway, that way if it buggers the OS I have no issue.

secondly, thanks for the info about the long strings, i wasnt aware this forum did that +Rep (imaginary of course )

Im sigging that dont ask how i do it, but i usualy get on Matts nerves finding bugs every five minutes, allthough it would be good having another Alpha tester on board, since i dont have a rig and cant do as much as i want to atm

Note: Alpha testing can be dangerous... ill link to a post about a lil problem i had, admitingly it was my fault for messing around
I like danger

I could make a hotfix for you if you wish Sin100.
Could be worth making it available on as many platforms as possible (thinking win2k even) OCN is not representative of what the average user uses.
You could consider asking it to be added to MajorGeeks.com download database.

GameSave Manager doesn't alter system settings.
At the most, GSM will backup from / restore to the wrong directories.

Adding Win2k support would be slightly harder than adding Windows XP SP2 support, but it's possible (although it would have to share the "alternative Windows XP" paths).

With regards to MajorGeeks, you're free to contact them on behalf of me (I'm too busy with the program, website and two threads for GSM as it is).

Some "exciting" news for the next version of GameSave Manager.

I'm currently working on version 1.5... This version will include a "auto-update" function (optional of course) for the "Officially Supported Games" database (which also means an update to the "manual" update dialog), along with a few bugs fixes and a "Technical Information" dialog.

The "auto-update" function was suggested earlier on within this thread (along with a few people suggesting it to me via Xfire).
Well, I'm happy to announce that after a long time working out how to implement it, I've finally managed to get a working model together!
This also means that I will no longer need to re-compile a new "build" of GSM for each and every new game entry; meaning quicker access for you (the "user") to the latest database.

I have no idea when I'll have a working BETA / Stable release, as I have yet to even start ALPHA testing (these functions were added just last night, so they're quite simple at the moment).

Want screenshots? I've got that covered!
Technical Information:

Updated "Check for Updates" dialog:

"Auto-Update" dialog:

Enjoy.

Woo, now for tha Avast Style "Your Database Has been updated, Game On!"
Optional of course

Simple feature idea - Restart GameSave Manager implemented into the menu ? e.g;
File > Restart GSM

seems like a simple idea

I'm way ahead of you... I've created a "Officially Supported Games database has been updated" audio file, which plays when the dialog is shown.
