3500+ or 3700+?

Thread Starter
Hey.. Here, in BG, A64 3500+ costs $200 ($242 for Venice) and 3700+ is $260... What are the differences between 3500+ and 3700+ (except the 1MB cache in 3700+)? And does the double sized cache help to perform much better? 10x

The 3700 has the same core as the 4000 and FX series, IMO get the 3700. The 1mb L2 cache really helps performance wise, the opteron's seem to be the same as a sandy but they go down to 1.8ghz but they all have 1mb L2cache (if your choice is based on $ then go with one of the opteron's 144 (make sure they're socket 939 as the 940's are for servers), 146, 148- they go up higher but these are the cheapest three.
