3500+ venice wont go above 2.6GHz stable - Page 4

Thread Starter
i found my max FSB and it only lets me get up to 301 without rebooting, i didnt check if it was stable in prime though. I gave in and bought a big typhoon and arctic silver 5 and i'm just waiting on the typhoon to get to my house which should be tomorrow. I'll fool around with it more once i get that big guy in there and see if it makes a difference.

I've been working with my 3500 venice also...... Different mobo, but you SHOULD be able to reach around what I have running at this point.

I tested my mobo's max fsb to around 260, and my rams max to 310fsb....

Right now i'm running at about 6.5ghz with a vcore of 1.49.... my dram voltage is 2.9, my chipset voltage is 1.6 and my LDT voltage is 1.4....

Multiplier is at 11x... and ram is running at 200mhz....

However, one thing I did change on my ram was that I set the RAS to 10..... my memory was at 8 stock for this setting..... Doing this however Did let me overclock from 6.0 to 6.5 stable at 240fsb....

I'm planning on raising my fsb again, but I havn't had time to do this yet, because when I do I want to be able to run Prime95 for atleast 10hrs....

I was able to hit around 2.75ghz at 1.5V, but my temp under full load was reaching about 53c...... I didn't like that at all, so I decided to wait until i got better cooling.... I have an upgraded FHS at this time, but it's like a 40$ setup... I guess i just need bigger?

I don't see why you should have to go over 1.55V to reach your goal of 2.7, you may be able to reach it at under 1.5v... just try messing with your rams settings for now, maybe your problem is there and not with your processor?

the voltage will depend somewhat on the cpu and mobo. each is different. I'm running my 3200+ venice at 2.6 and while it will run and prime for a good 5 hours at 1.45v I had to bump it up to 1.5 just to make sure it's stable.

my venice won't run at 2.6ghz unless its set at 1.65v. anything below (all the way down to 1.4 it won't boot. but i've been burning it for the past couple of days, so i'm going to try to lower the voltage again when i get home.
