I love the whole "set it and forget it" method of Diskeeper, I've been using it for quite a while now.

I should probably do this once in a while.

Yeah, Win7's defrag is much improved, here's a interesting link about it from MSDN blogs:

http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/200...rovements.aspx

I also want to add that the latest version of Auslogics (3.x) includes OPTIMIZATION as well as defragging. It will move system files to the fastest part of the drive for faster boot times (not an issue with SSD's). I'm not sure how many of the free defraggers actually do this.

No one answered my question from before. Who else likes to defrag from a bootable CD, and what do you use?

I have seen on many, many occasions where it does, in fact, make a big difference - usually on a machine that has been in use for a year or two and never defragged.

Auslogics is what I use. Simple, fast and very effective - not to mention free.

Smart defrag, has 3 options: defrag, fast optimize and deep optimize, can be scheduled and has auto defrag option, love it!.
