6600GT temps

Howdi all

I'v got a 6600GT and with stock cooling and no overclocking when playing Farcry or so the temp goes up to 105C ! It idles at 58C
I have checked the heatsinc and the fan on the card, both seems ok.
I have 2 extra fans on the side of my PC box.
What could be a prob? Invest in a better cooler? Which one works best on 6600GT?

The core slowdown threshold is 145C in the Nvidia options, does it mean 145C is the hottest it shud go? Is 105C acceptable for full load if the core slowdown threshold is 145C?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same temps on my new chaintech 6600gt agp.... I think those are the normal temps, because when I run ATItool or play games I don´t see any artifact...

That seems WAY too hot... What brand card is it? I've got the MSI 6600GT and with the stock cooler it never breaks 70°C full load. But DO get the Zalman. That brought my full load temps into the 40's.

Is your card AGP? I think the agp version runs hotter because of the PCI-E to AGP internal bridge.

I have a Sparkle 6600GT PCI-E.
I did reseat with new thermal grease, not AS5 tho and it did not make any diff.
I think 105C should not be a problem because the core slowdown threshold is 145C..
I emailed Sprakle support with this query, lets see what they say.

Im sure they said that lol. It will run fine at those temps but the life will go down a lot faster. Id personally never let mine go above 80 but thats still to hot. My 6800 ultra loads at 39C so.....
