Hi All,

My name is Brandon and im a new member from Australia
.. And no, I dont have kangaroos jumping around my backyard.. that's next door =P

I have just recently finished building my dream customer system I have planned for awhile. Im new to overclocking and I have read nearly all the guides this forum has to offer. Im wanting to know what I would need to do to push this system to 3.8-4.0 ghz or the fastest it can get and run it stable 24/7.

You can see the specs below. All responses are very appreciated. Thanks in advance!

you have a good board, enough head room on the ram speed, and a decent HSF. Just start pushing the fsb. when it wont boot anymore up the vcore a notch and try again. just watch the temps. Keep them under 65c and try to keep the voltage under 1.525v for the vcore. what brand of ram is it? I dont know about getting a 1ghz oc out of air cooling but it isnt impossible. I would guess more like 700 to 900 mhz tops. Good luck and keep us updated. Post back when you get stuck.

The important thing to remember with overclocking is to take baby steps. Increase settings slowly and test stability often. It may take several days or longer to finally get everything tweaked out just right, but it's well worth the wait. The Intel overclocking guide is a wonderful resource. Refer back to it often and post any questions you have along the way.

Welcome to the site.

really ? you can't set your memory freq to 400?
hmm.. odd. I'd think my mobo wouldn't differ that much from urs lol 'cause I can set my divider.

Welcome resilience, and yeah, the Intel overclocking guide will help a lot
& don't forget to lock your pci

Some good results from first test:

FSB set to 251mhz = 3.76ghz. Any higher and I get the reboot =(

It ran stable for 12 hrs last night @ 37'c idle & 43'c load.

I havnt yet upped the vcore or adjusted memory timings.. Should I keep it as is.. or venture further?

yea it's very odd details in this topic.

251fsb is really good and if its stable for 7/24use,its amazing! I'd go for 4GHz with some vcore (i'll when my mushkin ddr 667 and zalman 9500 arrive )
