Creative XFi Fatal1ty FPS for Christmas, some questions about it and the Xtreme Music

Incase you have no idea what a Creative XFi Fatal1ty FPS is, there you go. Anyways I have heard some complaints about this product and was wondering if these have been sorted out yet or not. Also, is it worth upgrading to this from my Audigy 2 Value?? (yes it is even weaker than a normal Audigy 2 such as the ZS) I wanted, in particular to know if it had any compatibility issues with my current MSI board or if it will have any issues with my future DFI SLI-DR Expert. And lastly, how many of you would get this card over the Xtreme Music?

i would not get it over my XtremeMusic. Games don't use the 64Mb of X-Ram yet, and i don't think it will ever provide a very big performance boost. therefore, IMO it's not worth the extra cash. i would also say buy it even if you already have an Audigy 2, especially if you play Battlefield 2. the hi-def sounds are amazing, and the simulated 3D sound (in any game really, but BF2 again, is great) through stereo headphones will make your jaw drop (it did for me at least) furthermore, for music, the 24-bit chrystalizer is amazing. it's a very subtle difference, but after listening to your music with it on for a while, turning it off will make everything sound noticably bland

I researched the card a little bit and it only gets great reviews. I read several and they all list amazing sound and the onboard 64 ram makes it so you do not take a huge fps hit. And as the question about better than your audigy, From Engadget.com:
Quote:
audio quality on the device is apparently noticeably better than the Audigy 1 or 2, while also relieving some CPU usage in system audio processing.

In my experience I have not really dealt much with sound cards but I think I may have to pick up one of the X-Fi series.

Yeah, considering how long the Audigy 2 was considered top of the line, I really want my XFi to tide me over for atleast 2 years and still be about top of the line.....

The compatibility issues with the DFI boards were only with the x-fi xtrememusic and platinum. It had to do with the 2mb on board for the x-fi. The fatal1ty and elite pro never had a prob.

I used to have an Audigy 2 zs and moved to this. After a bit of tweaking with the software, games and music sound awesome. More punch to everything, more clear. A good product. You'll be happy.

And also, on the creative forums, they had recognized the problem with the DFI boards and others and said that if there wasn't a bios upgrade for your board, you could send in your card and get a new one. Which makes me think they might have fixed their issue with newer cards. But like I said, that problem was only with the xtrememusic and platinum version.

I already hear bullets wizzing over my head with the card I have... I hear 'em in my sleep even What makes these cards soooo much better huh?
