Creative XFi Fatal1ty FPS for Christmas, some questions about it and the Xtreme Music - Page 2

There are a gajillion reviews that you can read instead of me explaining!

You can relate anything by saying this is good, why get something else. Someone people think onboard sound is good. Why get a sound card?

The Elite Music is for people wanting to setup a home studio type of setup. If you're a musician or recording engineer, I heard it's worth it. If you're not, get the Xtreme Music for $105.

I'm Getting 2 of the X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS', one for me and someone else, and I wouldn't mind selling the other one for $250.

The creative rep came and told us about them, and i just decided, aww what they heck, better frame rate, with on the fly sound rendering, it's worth it to me.

....you do know that EVERY sound card, including the Sound Blaster Audigy 1, has "on the fly sound rendering" with its own processor, right?

Yep. Going from onboard to any sound card would give a performance increase.

What is wrong with the value? The value kicks ass, obviously not as much as higher end, but it's by no means bad.

The Value is actually not a full Audigy 2 but rather a dumbed down version. And on top of that even if I had a Audigy 2 ZS Platinum I would probably still get an XFi, and not only do I not have the highest end Audigy 2, I have the one BELOW the lowest end But yeah, it was bought to replace my burnt out onboard and for the purpose it serves and the $50 I paid for it, it's great!
