Thanks

What do you mean by your memory controller is on the cpu die itself, not on the Northbridge like other systems

Sorry if its a bit stupid

Thanks

A "frontside bus" typically is the bus connecting your cpu with the memory controller on the Northbridge chipset on the motherboard. However, on an AMD64 cpu, the memory controller is not built into the Northbridge chipset on the motherboard, it's actually located ON the cpu die itself.

will raise HTT=270
Multipler=10x
Ht Multy=3x

and do OCCT

Will then report back with resultd

What Vcore are you using? Also, lower your ram speed using a divider so you can see if it's your ram holding you back. I know your ram can handle those speeds once configured properly, but your settings may be off.

please use prim95 torture test for stability as you skipped 1000Mhz in FSB using HTT, and that will result in instability, putting the HTT multiplyer to 3x will resolve the prob

Edit: uppsss my badd

My volatge is at stock...whihc i think is 1.488

My ram speed thingon my mobo is a bit weird...i have it on memclock 400Mhz, as 200Mhz acted as a divider. Settings are stadnard, ap[art i raised the memclock form 200 - 400Mhz.

OCCT did not work at the settings mensioned

should i try prime95

What is the next higher increment of Vcore that you can choose? Yes, Memclock Index Value is a divider setting. Use Gogar's Tool if you don't know what it will set ram speed to. (enter correct fsb and it'll calculate for you)

i would primarily like to find out the most stable oc wothout increasing voltgae...

but i will definitely fdind out for you

so at

htt=270
multiplier=10x
and ht multipier=3x

occt=not stable
prime95=rouning error, 0.4 epected 0.5.

I can get a stable overclock at

htt=265
multiplier=10x
ht multiplier=4x

and an unstable at either
htt=270
multiplier=10x
ht multiplier=4x

AND ALSO UNSTABLE AT

htt=246
multiplier=11x
ht multiplier=4x.

The memclock is at 400Mhz on all f these, and CPU Z shows either

CPU/11, or CPU/10.

based on these results, what should I tweak to obtain a stable overclock without raising voltage,

Thanks

I'm sure that it's vcore that's limiting you here. If you don't want to increase it then you'll have to make do with 2.65Ghz. Still a good speed increase
EDIT: Have you tried lowering the Memory speed ie. setting up a divider. Check this first

dont mind increasing...just not yet

i have only had the pc for about 4 months

1st build paranoia!!!

could in not possibly use a 10.5 multi

my target speed is at 2.7ish

could it be the max fsb/htt my cpu can reach is only 270????

thanks
