Sham, just raise your vcore a little bit. I bet it will solve all the problems.

Im not too sure about raising the Vcore yet...afr christmas.

I hgav put the Ram to 2.5-4-4-7 on 1.8V.

I am so far testing the cpu at 2.67Ghz, as it fails at 2.7Ghz.

i am doing this using p95, and will post back results.

Can i get the settings any tighter, or what else can i do....

I am a bit confused.

Reading a lot of info now...an will post back more knowlegeable for reesults.

Thanks

Ok, max i xan get at these settings is 2.67. What memory timings should I loosen to get to 2.7Ghz.

TRhis is really confusing

any help appreciated

Yep as above.^^^^^^^^^^^

is stable at 2.67

"""I have posted screenshots"""

few questions:

1. What is the Vdimm voltage if i set it to (AUTO)

2. How can I acheive a hugher OC without increasing Vcore- i am still not sure if mem is limiting factor, as if i put mem on divider, i still cant get 2.7Ghz i dont think????

3. looking at screenshots, should i improve me timings or change multiplier or htt.?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Easgerly await your response

Thanks

Your memory is rated to work at 275Mhz 2.5-4-4-7 @ 2.95v so set at that as this should be stable.
With regards to going further with the CPU speed, you'll need to add more vcore if you want to go further. Changing other settings will have no affect if your overclock needs more vcore.
If you don't want to add more voltage, then you'll have to make do with the speed you currently have I'm afraid. Up to you really

I think Im happy with that for now.

Just one LAST question...I promise!

Does that mean my max stable overclock is at 2.67Ghz at stock voltage, and I cant get memory timing any faster or anyfin???

Thanks

Yes, it looks like that's your maximum CPU o/c, but your memory timings can still be changed. However, this seems to be the rated amount from the manufacturer, so I doubt they'd get much tighter. You could try if you want though.

If you over underclock the RAM while working the CPU's OC the RAM will not hinder the process. Basically it's done that way so you can find the CPU's limit... you work the RAM speeds with the CPU underclocked with a 6x or 7x so the CPU does not hinder the RAM OCing.
Once you have both stable max speeds you can find the best the two work together.

first and foremost....Thanks to STE and The Duke and all who have helped me in my "endevaour to overclock"

I established that my Ram can go above 310, - i didnt try higher, and that my max oc on stock voltage is 2.75 where i didnt receive a bsod - "blue screen of death" (i think thats what it means), but p95 fails at that speed

I have got it to 2.67 stable with the ram timigns 2.5-4-4-7 at 1.8V on the Vdimm

Above that it is unstable

Just wann know is that a good OC and what is it good enough to be classified as a "Golden Processor" or am i just dreaming......

Thanks
