well all i know is that i bought a gamecube the week it came out and i've had no problems, and that my snes was also one of the first (my uncle had it before me, he's always been a nintendo fanboy) and it runs like a dream as well, so i have no reason to think that the revolution will have any problem when it debuts

#1 go to my signature.
#2 so RE4 is so for 4 year olds..
#3 so I suppose the GCN beating out the PS2 in power and the N64 being more powerful than the PS1 isnt good enough?

that was a long time ago. Nintendo seems as if it has changed positions and aimed towards the el cheaper crowd.

You know, the 32 pipeline R520-based Revolution GPU would most likely be more powerful than the PS3's RSX.

You guys need to stop looking at the numbers and start looking at the architecture because they don't mean jack. The PS3 has 16 less pipelines than the Xbox 360, but when the time comes to test each head to head, there's a huge chance the PS3 will come out on top.

I'd wait for the PS3 to come out just so the prices would fluctuate a bit, then I'd nab the PS3.

I would anticipate a price drop on the X360 when the PS3 comes out. Sony will then be forced to give up market share to the people who opt for the cheaper X360, or lower their price as well and take a bigger loss per unit shipped than they already are (which Sony cannot afford, by the way).

In poker, this is called bullying. Microsoft has a bigger pile of chips, and sometimes that can help you win even if you get worse cards. It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out.

You need to understand how marketing works. It could cost the company four times more to make than they charge retail, but they're all after one thing: shares. A company makes more stock shares when a good product comes out, why? People start to trust in the companies R&D, so they give it shares (or money, basically) so that the company would develop better products in the future.

Someone is actually sueing Microsoft because of pulling one of these off, releasing a product made to be defective just to gain marketing shares.

Did you know it cost Microsoft to make the Xbox just about as much as Sony to produce the PS3?
Why do you think they released so few xbox's at the beginning, and all of a sudden they stopped producing them for over one month? (Tip: They didn't run out of material if that's what you're thinking...)

I'll leave you to answer those questions on your own. I hope you(all people) have enough sense not to post back with a Microsoft extremist mentality.
