6600GT Low 3DMark Score

Thread Starter
I have a 6600GT that I was able to OC to 614/1174. For some reason though, my 3DMark05 score is 4312 while others with lower clock rates seem to be getting more that 7500.

Any suggestions?

Its not possible to get 7500 with a 6600gt so I dont know where you saw that. I havent benched mine lately(6800 Ultra 474/1.25) but I know its not to much over 7500. 4300 is a good score for that card considering your using a 820.

Here's one example:

There are about 10 others with scores in that area.

check out the setting though...I get 3661 with my 6600gt @ 592/1184....but 3dmark05 is meant to challenge the mid range vid cards...and it should still be kinda hard for the 7800gtx's of the world.

then again, my psu is WAY underpowered, so hopefully it'll go up when I get a new system.

EDIT: that amd that is running the benchmark scored you posted is a 2750mhz amd dual core...it will get significantly better scores than a pentium D.

The highest 66gt that i could find on the site was 5100 and a sli of 7400 which would match. You may be looking at dual 6600gts I believe. 7500 for one 6600gt I would consider to be impossible.

Even if he has a a64 at 2.75 its not possible to get 7500 on a 8 pipe 6600gt. He must have the in sli. He has an sli board I would look at his exact specs but im not registered.

How would the CPU affect the graphics score? Particulary enough to almost double my score when his CPU score is only 500 points better than mine?

I think that the others are right: he must be using SLI.

NCSA got 7635 on SLi 6600GT's. And he's running an AMD Opteron at 3.4Ghz. There's no way a single 6600GT could come close to that. I've got a MSI 6600GT, got 5140 points but is o/c'd a LOT further than yours. So I don't think it's that bad. Your CPU is holding you back, though.
