Stupid questions from a newb

Thread Starter
Ok I have a pretty crapy card. It is a FX 5200, I know, I know, it sucks. But, I was wondering where I would go to even find what its core clock speed and memory speed is. I was looking in my bios and didn't see anything about my graphics card. I was looking through my advanced settings as well and didn't see it. Can anyone help a brotha out here?

Also, if you any of you could give me a little overclocking for dummies lesson really quick that would be kewl too hehe. Don't worry, I know enough about computers not to blow the thing up or do anything stupid. Any help would be great.

Hmm.. I know ATiTool has a stress test function and a FPS counter but I didn't/don't think it will overclock your Nvidia card.
To overclock my Nvidia card I like to use Coolbits 2 or Riva tuner. Coolbits 2 is a small file you can DL that will unlock overclocking options in your nvidia control pannel. Riva tuner will overclock and has a few more options ( what I use). After obtaining coolbits just right click on the desktop>Nvidia Display>your monitor>Clock Frequencies.
You'll wanna use manual and 3d settings, when you oc, only do one at a time -> core them mem or mem then core. Only go up by a few MHz and test untill you can't pass. Good luck

Ok Ste I got that program and tried using it. I used the find max core and it was doing fine for awhile and then it crashed. My computer went to blue screen and starting talking abou dumping files. I just restarted and everything was fine. The ATI program said there might have been a problem from overclocking, but still told me that it reached a little over 300MHZ. Is it supposed to do this?

Also, my temp never moved and was below 30 degrees. Can you give me any kind of info that will help me use this thing? Doesn't seem like there is that much to it, but it also doesn't seem like it is doing anything lol.

No, shouldn't blue screen. Just keep an eye on it.
Just click find Max Core and then leave for about an hour without any artifacts.
Then click Find Max Memory and do the same.
Hope this works okay this time
