Also have the GPU bridge with the LanParty words facing down or towards the back of the MB, that is with the letter L closets to the top GPU, if that made any sense.

Make sure that the chipset drivers are installed 6.70 is good and then retry the SLi operation. Check the SLi option box in the nVidia driver. - try drivers 81.95 seem to be good ones.

hmm I got nvidia to see both cards and enable SLI but im getting a error that says "no sli controller found in the system" .... when i run 3dmark03 i got 14000 which is ridiculously low,,, so now what gives I wonder,,

I also couldnt find any option in bios called GPU,,, but i did find init display and i set it to PCIex ,,,, not sure where GPU option is

A CD tool for the DFI nF4 MB is here (by TMod)

Some Genie settings that may or maynot work for you are:

Code:
DRAM Configuration Settings:

DRAM Frequency Set............................ - 200=RAM/FSB:01/01
Command Per Clock (CPC)....................... - Enable
CAS Latency Control (Tcl)..................... - 3.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (Trcd)..................... - 3.0
Min RAS# active time (Tras)................... - 8.0
Row precharge time (Trp)...................... - 3.0
Row Cycle time (Trc).......................... - 10 Bus Clocks
Row refresh cyc time (Trfc)................... - 14 Bus Clocks
Row to Row delay (Trrd)....................... - 03 Bus Clocks
Write recovery time (Twr)..................... - 03 Bus Clocks
Write to Read delay (Twtr).................... - 02 Bus Clocks
Read to Write delay (Trwt).................... - 03 Bus Clocks
Refresh Period (Tref)......................... - 3120 Cycles
DRAM Bank Interleave.......................... - Enabled

DQS Skew Control.............................. - Auto
DQS Skew Value................................ - 0
DRAM Drive Strength........................... - Level 5
DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... - Level 2
Max Async Latency............................. - 10.0ns
DRAM Response Time............................ - Fast
Read Preamble Time............................ - 6.5ns
IdleCycle Limit............................... - 256 Cycles
Dynamic Counter............................... - Disable
R/W Queue Bypass.............................. - 08 x
Bypass Max.................................... - 04 x
32 Byte Granularity........................... - Disable(4 Bursts)
So i tried those dram settings and it was a no go,,, couldnt get past post and iinto windows it just kept looping reload,,, now for AMD overclocking here is my question,,,

I went ahead and I set the FSB to 240 and loaded to windows no problem which is what I am running at right now as I type this. I know I can tweak the voltage for stability and I can raise the FSB to find a nice spot,,,

I also know about ram timings and I am at a 1:1 divider but what are all those other dram settings,,, almost all my other boards (asus) just let you choose the ram voltage and ram timings,,, I have no clue what all those other dram settings are,,,

and would it be bad for me to just find a FSB and voltage that im stable at now without tweaking the dram timings at this time?

thanks

It is likely that these settings are casuing you an issue.

DRAM Drive Strength........................... - Level 5
DRAM Data Drive Strength...................... - Level 2
Max Async Latency............................. - 10.0ns

Read Preamble Time............................ - 6.5ns

So for stock speeds set them to Auto and then use A64 tweaker to find out some settings to manually set and also Everest Home to see the DRAM Data Strength level .. these will help you along the way.

Also there is a new release of BIOS - 12-07

Use memtest to check any timings change - run loop #8 for 6-10 runs, 10 better and there should be no errors - then try Pi32M to see how you get on... then move upwards.

The Expert will take more time to sort with non BH/UTT memory it seems the BIOS is really geared for these Low latency modules with high Vdimm.. which is where the benchmarking world is at.

thanks for all the help thus far,,, well I tweaked a few settings,, I reset my dram settings to default and started fresh,,,, I set it to a 180 divider (i think my ram can handle 1:1 but im not sure) ,,, and i locked in the ram to 3-3-3-8 timings and 2.8v whiich is default for crucial ballistix even though the system had it at 3-3-3-7 on auto. and only like 2.5v,,,, I set my LDT/FSB ration to 4 and I was able to run at 2.6ghz and just ran a 5 hour prime95 dual core run with no problems... and no errors,,,

one question though,, I had one core get a lot further through the testing then the other in prime 95 ,,, is this core weaker or am i missing something?

I will run memtest and i will dl everest and a64 tweaker to have a look at maybe I can find out some more info,,,

------------------------

In terms of the memory and the BH/utt difference I know that utt runs at higher VDIm like in the 3 range but the reviews I checked out atleast had the Ballistix performing well for what it was reaching 290+ at 3-3-3-8 and 300 at 3.0v ,,,,, I have a big 120mm fan rigged up to blow over my RAM it just gets to hot without it,,,, Can I get good results down the line with the ballisitx or do I have no choice but to switch to BH/utt ram,, and what is the main difference

Sounds like good progress. These modules are currently the best available and some are getting up around the DDR600 mark with a higher Vdimm, so there is no reason why not to also try for that... 2Gb at DDR600 is a worthy target, so no need for BH type modules unless you want some of your benchmarks to be great.... Even with CAS3 but at around DDR600 you should see some nice times, CPU speed allowing too.

Keep them cool will be a requirement, they have been known to die after a while and heat maybe the key factor.

Also run through the BIOS and turn off devices that are not in use... no need to load the OS for no reason.

These are, Serial, IrDa, Silicon RAID controller, IEEE (will still charge a connected device), Marvell LAN

Thanks I have been running stable at 2.6 for a while,, prime and all so I tried to bump it up to 2.75 and 2.7 but I cant get stable dual core prime 95 when im at 2.7,,, I uped my vcore from 1.475 all the way to 1.57 for the sake of testing but couldnt get a stable 2.7 overclock,,, I am now running new over night prime95 at 2.6 but with some new dram settings and im about 1.5 hours in so far and its all good,,,, if this is stable ill trying taking these new settings up to 2.7 ,,,

one other question NCSA,,, why does one prime95 get further in testing then another is this a weak core or just backround apps running,,??

and why does my bios and all monitoring say that at full load im only at 27c and 19c at idle,,, seems kinda low to be real,,,

,,,,, any advice would be great,,,

I think you are on to something with having a weaker core being slower in Prime. I have read about that problem. Im not sure if there is much that can be done about it though.

Edit: We are going to have very similar rigs soon, i'll let you know haw mine does

The Dual cores all seem to have a stronger one over the other, and there is a burn-in process (which I have still not sorted for you) that has helped others 'fix' that other core.

Temps, could be a BIOS realted issue.. try the new version 12-07 to see if that helps.

You are on H20 so what are your ambient temps? As you will not be able to get below that so could be a sensor issue as well.
