Im a PC guy, so dont try to start an omg lets vs this thing thread.

Stay on topic. And don't be such a hypocrite. The only reason I dont like the 360 is because of the shared ram, and You can already see in this thread why I don't like the NR. And the only things I have against the PS3 is the needlessly complicated cell processor and the bluray not being fully utilized.. but I just like the games that are on the PS3.. thats about the only reason why I have that system (ps2).....

also seeing as the directors and guys at nintendo have stated countless times the NR wont compete with the 360 and the PS3 basically assures that you shouldn't expect much from the NR

They mean you shouldn't expect much from it in terms of graphics.

Well im not gonna believe anything on the Revo until its officially announced. One story says its gonna be powerful and another says its gonna be a weak system. So Ill just ignore the rumors until its revealed.

Its just like the R520. Everyone thought it would have 32 pipes and 512bit memory. And then word came out that it was only 16 pipes and then everyone thought it would be a really weak card. And it did turn out to only have 16 pipes but it still managed to beat the GTX 256.

So who knows? Ill just wait for the real info.
Very nice!

We cannot stress this enough: Revolution is not being positioned as a competitor to either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Nintendo has instead chosen to design a console that will be very affordable for consumers.
Quote:
Readers discouraged by Revolution's seeming lack of horsepower when compared to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 should remember that Nintendo is not interested in competing in the high-definition gaming arena, and as a standard-definition console, Revolution is more than capable. Capcom's Resident Evil 4 remains one of the most gorgeous games this generation and it ran on GameCube, a console at least half as powerful according to developer reports.
Are you really going to slap down $400 for an xbox 360 plus $60 a game, just because it looks a little better than the Revolution's? That's not smart, it's just stupid. Nintendos already proven that with the DS: not the best graphics, but cheaper games and innovativiy (Stylus), have the DS outselling the PSP.

omg look at the specs on your computer, you slapped down the same ammount of money to make things look better.

dont get me started about the DS vs the PSP. PSP wins clearly. I dont care if its outselling. The Stylus was a worthless addon that was never utilized so you cant tell me that was a selling point in the DS. and better games! LAWL~ The DS has produced more flops than I can count.

and also graphics do matter, seeing as no one would buy any game that had graphics of the old atari systems. It could be the greatest game in the world and still no one would buy it because no one would care.

Gaming now is about the experience. If it looks better and feels better than it is better.

I saw some one make a comparison about starcraft in another thread about nintendo. Wow way to take something not even related. So are you saying if starcraft was released today with the same graphics it had back in the 1990's and it had to compete against the graphics we have now.. No one would buy it. plain and simple. Graphics do make a game.

So right now the only thing nintendo has to rely on now is a gimmick controller.

dude, the psp did frigin own the ds, not only in SALES but in the overall innovation. The graphics power was frigin amazing for a handheld and the touch screen isn't that great. I have a DS and always resort to using the good ol' control pad n' buttons.

You guys seem to not know Nintendo's Ace in the hole, the Revolution is rumored to cost between $99 and $149 at launch! That is just nuts, but it does explain the retardedly crappy specs and the "Uh oh, we ran out of R&D money so let's just make the new controller the first thing we see in our living rooms.......the remote! YEAH!" controller. And TriplePlay, you shouldn't expect much from it in terms of GRAPHICS, CPU power, or basically ANYTHING at all, still, the 30 forms of the exact same Game Boy have shown us that Nintendo fanboys will find any excuse to buy every single thing Nintendo makes, kinda like that Chinpokomon episode of South Park

Ares, I own a PSP and before GTA:LCS came out, I hadn't TOUCHED my PSP for over 3 months! It is seriously lacking in the games department but GTA is amazing! But I agree, it seems that Nintendo is WAY over reliant on gimmicky "innovation" we all saw how far that got them with their Virtual Boy

Well, the CPU power and all of the other specs mostly contribute towards the graphics in the end... not always entirely, but mostly...

And I don't think it will be all that great compared to other next-gen consoles, but I do think it will be great for its price! I mean, you can't beat a new gaming console being even under $200, and possibly even between $99 and $150!
