Whoa whoa whoa... wait a minute. First, if your mobo didn't support your chip, then it would never boot in the first place. As far as support of only ONE of the two cores... bah! Try getting a program like Sandra 2005 or Everest to confirm that there are two physical processors.

I used to P5LD2 mobo (a lesser version of the SLi version) and it supported both cores. If it is in fact the nVidia chipset that's inhibiting your processor, it may be time for a better board.

It also looks like you overclocked you processor... this can do a number of things to make it SEEM as if there is only one core. Try turning off your overclock.

Wow, you're right, appearantly they make mobo's that support the dual-core processors, but will only utilize one of the cores. Trash that thing. The P5WD2 Premium is a better board with the best chipset out there (i955x).

This is one of the first times that I have seen something like this. The problem is that the Pentium D 820 is cut down dual core processor with less features than the 830 and 840. For example EIST is not included on the 820 but is included on the higher end segment of the dual core processors by Intel. It does not supprise me that it is this particular processor that has the problems on this board. The P5ND2 is not an extremely good board never the less and tends to have quite a few problems, I would (as previously advised) invest in a better motherboard like the ASUS P5WD2 Premium. It may not have SLi but its hard to beat for overclocking potential and features.

There may be ways to get around this problem on the board, for example using a custom BIOS. However I would recommend against using this course of action

Seems to me that there is an option in the task mgr that sets what you see on the graphs. I remember having to set it to show both cores on my rig. (If I were at home I could double check) As for the board you're using I seem to remember hearing that there were some compatibility issues with the 800 series processors when I was building the current rig- it very well could be that it is utilizing only one of your cores.
