Did you try flashing back to the orgional bios? If not, you might want to give that a shot. Oh, btw, you need the fx5200 ultra to be able to flash it to a 5500 i belive.

Been done. Any other thoughts. Unfortunately this and an actual 5500 are the only cards I can run as Dell (in their infinite wisdom) desided to leave the AGP area blank as I'd have to get another computer from them. Nice. PCI only for me . . . for now.

OK problem fixed. Googled NV34 Board ID Flashing. Found http://www.whitebunny.net/hardware/chipset_nvidia.html

It suggested wiping the EEPROM using -e which I did. I flashed the backup back onto the card a woohoo it worked.

It also had a 5500 bios with the same chip and tried flashing that bios and it worked like a charm check it out

According to the site you can find your chip id checking the number at startup for example: 4.34.20.18.00
The second number is your chip id number.

Check it out if you have a 5200.
This site also has many other Nvidia chip bios's.
