I would say the gto is better due to the 4+ pipes, however, get the connect3d x800gto as it has a posibility to flash and be modable to a x850xt

6600GT it has shader model 3 and the 6600GT's are awsome. They're the best performance for the buck.

Please, go with the 3700+. It overclocks better, and it has twice the amunt of L2 cache, which is comparable to around 300mHz extra speed. Go with it, you will not regret it.
As for the video card, save up the extra $30 and buy this (GTO2). It is garanteed to overclock and unlock to up to and past the X850XT PE! It will do exceptionally well with this. You will not regret any of these purchases.

The San-Diego core is sloppy at best, hence a large L2 to make up for other shortcomings much like Intel have with certain chips. My 3500+ 'Venice' is clocked to 4000+ speeds.(at a saving of $200 AU) Its just not worth taking a step back for the difference in price. Looking at the cards your considering a 3000/3200+ 'Venice' would serve you well.

I'm an Nvidia Fanboi so I wont even comment on the cards - you know what I'll GT.......I mean Say.
