Overclocking my amd64 3500 on the dfi nf4 mobo

Thread Starter
I've just started learning a LOT about overclocking recently, and i've read a bunch of pages on the DFI motherboards.

I can't seem to find out what the term used for increasing the processors voltage is on the DFI mobo though?

Some things i did change....

First off it had my ram set default to 180mhz...... IT is two 512 cards of duel channel pc3200(400mhz).... I changed the memory frequency to 200, now cpuz is reading my ram at 230mhz......

IT HOWEVER, does say i have single channel ram? any ideas why this is? OR HOW CAN I MAKE THIS MOBO RECOGNISE MY RAM AS DUEL CHANNEL??? HELP!!

I also changed my ras to cas delay to 3
Minimum ras active timing to trans=10
Row precharge time to 3
Row cycle time to 10 (best preformance is 7, best stability is 16)
Row refresh time to 14, (10minimum for best preformance 17 for best stability)
Row to Row delay = 4
Write recovery time to 3
Write to read delay to 2
Refresh period to 3120 (recommended best for 200mhz ram)
Write cas latency to 1
and set the chipset voltage to 1.7

make sure you have ya memory located in the correct slots, check ya manual to see where they are, on mine it is in the 2 orange slots but that may not be the same for you, have a look. if you dont have it in the correct way it will only run as single channel as apposed to dual.

The ram are in the dimm1 and dimm2 slots..... however on cpuz it says they are in slots 1 and 3? One and 3 are yellow, while two and four are red or orange *(can't tell b/c there's blue lights in the case)

I also had tried to install the duel channel pc3200 ram from my emachines computer in the 3 and 4 slots..... system would not boot up at all? Is this just a capatability problem, or should the ULTRA duel channel ram be in 1 and 3???

im not sure check ya manual and it will tell you which slots to use to run dual channel. I know the placement of the slots has moved at some stage but not sure what yours is like, try moving one of the sticks around till it goes to dual channel, it will tell you when booting up.

Ok, I moved one ram card to dimm 3.... so one is dimm1 and the other is dimm3.....

On cpuz it says it is in dimm 1 and 2.....

But not its seeing it as duel channel!! yay!

Anyone know how to set my processor voltage now? the dfi board has different names for everything *sigh*

good work now go into your bios and have a look around you will find it probably called vcore( on mine anyway) be very careful here, too much volts and it will just get hot and heat is our enemy, only raise it a minimal amount unless you can keep things cool with some very good cooling.

With 4x512 you will need to set your memory timing to 2T form 1T.
If I understand correctly, you are using 2 different sets of RAM and many not get along well enough to run Dual Channel!
Keep the full load temp below 50c when upping the vcore.

I'm only using the two 512 mb ultra duel channel rams... i decided to sell the ram out of the emachines.....

There is not setting called "vcore" i've been looking, but the DFI has a different name for EVERYTHING......

*confused
