what is the highest percentage a p4 northwood has been overclocked? does anyone have any bragging rights here that has overclocked one past 30%?

i have the same processor as you...i overclocked it at 30% and its stable as can be!!!! its now running 3.38GHz. in fact it seems to be running ca few degrees cooler, so once i figure out how ill overclock it higher........

I oc'ed my 1.6A over 100%, past 3.4 GHz on TEC. My old 2.4C did 4 GHz which is almost 60% OC.

P4 2.4 all the way up to 4413, thats about 84%. 2.4C's are such great overclockers.

since we are on the subject, my ASUS board only has a setting for 30% max O.C. in the bios settings how do i go higher????

If its already up to the 30% with good temps and everything, try a program, thats what i did because in my bios i can only go up to 2.65 then i overclocked to 3.09 with programs.

ur mobo is alot like mine. all u have to do is instead of setting it to overclock 30%, u should set it to manual. to up the fsb u just use the plus and minus keys. make sure to hold in shift in order to use plus (+)

u dont need to use a program. do what i said, since our bios' are probably close to identical

Abandon the percentage overclocking and do it all manually (set frequencies, voltages, RAM timings, etc.). You'll get much better results, and you'll truly understand the process a whole lot better.
