MSI 770T-C45 Motherboard ACC settings

post #1 of 5

Hi
I currently have the above board and a PhenomII 55Be @ 3.6Ghz on Air (Zalman 9500A Cooler). I have been trying to unlock the extra 2 cores on my chip and while I can get the Bios post to show x4 B50 I cannot get the system to boot into Win 7 64Bit. I have set EC Firmware to "Special" and ACC to Auto
and reset the OC to stock 3.1Gh but still cannot get the system to boot into win 7. I also have Win XP Pro 64 installed on a separate HDD and I got the system to boot into it once with CPU-Z showing all 4 cores unlocked but on restarting after installing a program the same failed to start. Any help greatly appreciated.
I am getting really frustrated with this as it appears the chip is capalbe of being unlocked.

More voltage may help.

EDIT - Sorry I didn't notice the "T" in your board name, mine is just a 770-C45, so you may want to just disregard this ......

Just curious, what BIOS you are using?

I have BIOS v1.3 on mine and had no problem installing and running Win7 32 & 64 bit with my X2-550 @ 3.4GHz @ X4, Everything in my bios is set to their defaults except....

CPU Mult = 17
Cool n Quite = Enabled (not Auto)
Firmware=Special
ACC=Auto
Speed Spectrum = Disabled
Onboard Sound = Disabled (have an Audigy 2)

Even at 206x17 I can run it as an X4 with default voltages and Cool n Quite enabled, but of course not all chips are the same, so you might want to try raising the voltages a hair and see if that helps. And of course just because it unlocks doesn't necessarily mean the extra cores are good ones.

Try 1.3V or 1.35V @ 3.1GHz or even hard-set the BIOS to 1.4V and go back to 3.6ghz. Could be a bogus core or it will be buggy I'd try a new board oh say Gigabyte or Asus for that particular processor. Oh a brighter note MSI is offering BIOS updates for the new c3 stepping features for the PII 920 & 940's

Hi All

Thanks for the replies. I already tried upping the CPU and NB voltages and the system just rebooted. If I try setting the ACC manually, what should I set. My board shows from -2 to -12 and +2 to +12 also 0 and auto.

Thanks
