hey guys....!

I have the rig, in my sig. And i just picked up a Q6600 (G0) chip, an ASUS P5Q Turbo board, 4 Gigs OCZ DDR2 800 Mghz Platinum,a Pc Power & Cooling 750 watt PSU and a BFG 295 GTX GPU.

BTW, i also picked up the HK 3.0 block to handle the cooling chores on the Q6600. when the PSU arrives (should be today), Im slapping it all together for a first boot..... whaddya yall think?

EDIT- the P5B Plus, E6600, 2 GiG OCZ Special Ops and Cooler Master Extreme power Duo PSU (600W) is going into an HTPC build. I have a HTPC casse onthe way with a 7" touchscreen... ;-) Unfortunately the 8800 GTS isnt going into the HTPC due to a minor problem with WATER POURING ON IT..... (ARGHHHH!), im gonna get a card with HDMI out anyways.

Please spell correctly. Its not a request, its part of the ToS.

Anyway, its okay, but you should of got a 5870. Its on par with a GTX 295 and its a bit cheaper. As well as being directX11, and the drivers haven't matured yet.

holy cr*p 3 manitobans in one thread.
lol.

Alright back on topic.

Yeah your build seems adequate for now.
Q6600 was and still is a very capable cpu.
Water-cooling it is a pretty good idea too.

Man can I drop by and borrow that 295?

Hahahaaa.... the 'Toba thread. Im in the country though, your in 'Lil Afghanistan (compared)....

and, sure, pop on down anytime. if you can get past my wife, the cards all yours. :-(

anyways, the PSU will be here tomorrow! my buddy called today and said he "Had to substitute the PC Power & Cooling PSU" with a Corsair 750W PSU, as {Computer Avenue} didnt have the PC Power & Cooling one in stock. eeeerrrr...... This maybe for the better?

But, non the less, i looked at the Corsair PSU and it looks like it will be fine as a replacement. Im getting kinda anxious as to what ill be able to get the Q6600 clocked up to. im really hoping 3.8 Ghz 24/7 will be a reality, and would really like to see 4.0 ghz..... on this build im going to have ONLY the CPU on water, and the HK 3.0 Block looks like it'll do the part! I(im finally retiring the DangerDen RDX, after 10+ years!) I had the northbridge on water on my last (sig) build.... my waterblock wouldnt have fit "just like that" so i opted for a CPU based water solution for now. I added a small fan to the NB HS, for a little extra active cooling, i also pulled all the sinks on the block and yanked all the stock rubber TIM stuff, and replaced it with GELID GC1 compound just for good measure. i can barely wait for tomorrow! ill let ya know how it turns out in this thread.....

Go Team Manitoba!!!!
