I submitted a support question to Nvidia and I also notice there is newer nForce drivers available for my board to try. Samsung doesnt list any firmware updates tho

They are the newest ones on the NV site for Win XP32 dated in October, they were an update for me.

This is a little bit of a bump. I encountered this issue back in Dec 2008 at first, thinking it was a hardrive failure. But I had since moved to windows 7 and it happened every 3-6 months for about 2 weeks at a time.

The above seems to be the solution, the Nvidia drivers are to blame. You need to clean the driver and let windows take control. This seems to fix it, until nvivida auto update and install themselves back on your system.

When i get enough money i'm jumping to intel at the cost of the SLI I love.
