i5/i7 LGA 1156 overclocking guide (to 4GHz~) - Page 35

Hey guys, i might need help with some overclocking i have been doing lately. i used to be at 3.6ghz 24/7 stable overclock on my i7 870 stock voltages. recently i felt like hitting 4.0ghz to check it out and try to achieve a stable clock. i've got my multiplier to 22, Vcore to 1.31, vtt to 1.24.

everytime i try to test it for stability using prime95 i get the error that resembles its not a stable clock. any advice on the voltages or anything else that might help me achieve 4.0ghz stable? thumb.gif

raise your vtt voltage to 1.3, and raise your vcore to 1.35v. and run prime95 again and see what happens thumb.gif

In addition to this, Intel states that the max for both is 1.4v but you can certainly exceed this if you have adequate cooling.

yep, i just tried that and i keep getting this message FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4 Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file. on idle my vcore voltages would be around 1.31~1.34. under stress it goes all the way up to 1.38. and my vtt on idle is at 1.32 and 1.33 under stress, although the settings in the bios are even 1.3 for vtt and 1.35 for vcore. i've set my voltage control to fixed instead of dynamic. my CPU multiplier is at 22 BLK at 182. my temps are pretty OKay i would say, although at 4.0ghz unstable temps wonder around 65~75 degrees, iam using the Hyper 212 + from coolermaster. i've got 8GB ram 1600mhz. any ideas on how to stable this B**** would be appreciated smile.gif

I've been running the 750 stable @ 4,05 ghz for a while by using Noctua DH-14, how much further can I clock it? Idle temp at 38-42 degrees due to hot GPU beneath that is going to be replaced soon.

I ran my 760 at 4.2-4.3. Keep pushing it higher
