Howdy,

Ty for this nice guide!

I have come to a wall at around 3,9 ghz with my i7 860. Been trying all night with different settings to get to 4 ghz. Any tips/advice?

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=840691

Pc specs:
MSI P55-GD65
I7 860
OCZ Platinum PC-15000 ddr3-4gb (1866 mhz) with CL9 (9-9-9-27)
Scythe Mugen 2 cooler

Voltages:
Vcore: 1.42v (cpu-z shows wrong somehow)
CPU ptt: 1.223v (tried higher too)
CPU pll: 2.000v

speedstep, turbo mode, C1E, c-state, EIST all off. Spread spectrum disabled.

CPU-Z does not show it wrong, it's because of Intel's "Vdroop".

Try using 1.4v for your IMC Voltage.

And fill out your system specifications.

I`ll try that. Gonna put ram ratio to 4

Gonna try CPU VTT @ 1.45V too.

Edit: cant find anything like IMC voltage.

CPU VTT (or QPI/DRAM voltage) is all you need to change, I'm sure there is a setting on that board. Can you list all the voltages?

edit:

Chilly, call it VTT not "IMC" voltage. (you're not wrong, though)

CPU VTT to 1.45V is safe? Got it at 1.4V atm and it seems more stable.

1.45 is the max I think anybody should use. tbh with the "vdroop" for it, it goes down to about 1.43. 1.4 would be like 1.34-1.36. That's why i think it has to be set high.

As low as you can get it would be the best.

Are you on 1.5 bios.Did wonders for the board.Still not mature.

Skip over 194-199 fsb, appears buggy for me.
Ok I`ll set it to 1.4V and see if that works if not I`ll keep raising till 1.45V.

Are the rest of my settings okay? http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=840831

I am looking for a stable 24/7 overclock

@Forsaken1: Yes I have bios 1.5
