Thanks! I have no back round in this, so I think I am getting pretty good grasp on things.

Btw, you can make some insane Normal/Spec maps using CrazyBump.

Cool, I'll have to check that out, but I like my current method as well. What benefits would CrazyBump have over the norm in the pic I posted?

Ease of creation. It's basically a small app. where you can take a diffuse map, tweak some sliders & simultaneously generate normal/bump/disp/spec maps......and view it all realtime as you tweak.

It's still not going to generate the quality you'd get from actually projecting geometry, but for ease of use and very quickly generating maps it's great.

well, I used to make maps for Halo CE some years ago, so I thought I could post some screenshots I got lying around

latest Halo CE map project i were working on were codenamed "HC", and it was never released, infact, it was never finished, as a damn HDD failure occured and i didnt have backups, so i lost hunders of hours of work
that was also the main reason why i quit Halo Mapmaking

luckily, i had some screenshots of the work in progress map uploaded, so i can show them plz also note, the textures were work in progress, just had a 5 minute template of the ground texture without any shadowmaps or anything, just 2 little detailmaps on it

And before that, there were an experimental Snow map project, that were never "actualy" finished, but still released (it had a Finland vs. Estonia CTF theme, as i live in Finland, an my friend who lives in Estonia gave me the ideas for this snow themed map)

and before that, there were this "mountain top" map, that actualy were the latest map i actualy "finished" but made a few mistakes as i released it in a hurry forgot to adjust Smoothing Groups in a few places and made a mistake with Teleporter ID's this one were also my personal favourite of all my maps

and before those there were many, many maps aswell, but i'm not gonna post them as i think i have a long anough post already

oh, and, in case someone has played halo and remember seeing these maps etc, i did infact use other nicks at the time of this Halo mapmaking, most common nicks were; Z_25, iCe-=½ËÊɽ and µ_Micro before Microx256

Well, I suspect it would be a lot like ShaderMap Pro which I am using now for various things. Here's a few more things I've been working on for the Sauerbraten engine.

First two from a Jurassic Park themed mod I started, and the rest are just some various textures.

This is so cool. I wish I had the time to keep working on mine. Maybe if I get lucky and get enlisted in December instead of so soon after school ends.

There are some more pics coming, Firefox crashed while I was uploading them. I'll try again in a bit though. What where you working on Coma? And to Micro, I'm not much of a Halo fan but the maps look pretty nice nonetheless.
