With an unlocked/overclocked 6800, you can most likely play fear with
1024x768
dx9 shaders
medium-high text resolution
volumetric lights on
shadows on (soft shadows off)
light detail medium
effects, water rez, reflections and displays: max
AF 4x at
AA 2x

Basically, dont too much out of this card. If you want to run FEAR on max settings, then consider a 7800 card.

Hey Hp_Pavilion I live in ottawa, I could sell you my 6800LE if you like, It didn't unlock but the shaders did and it overclocks high enough to get me a 3700 3dmark05 score. Post if your interested.
