I have realtek and it works fine.
You just gotta download the right drivers and set it up right.
Ive only had a problem once but thats because it wasnt set up right.

I just had the worst 2 hours, I turn my comp on and i get no sound yet it was working earlier, I try another pair of headphones and the sound works but then i try my proper headphones & i get a little bit of sound then it cut out. I tested my phones upstairs on my stereo and they worked just fine so i figured it must be the headphone jack on the card. So i decide to get round to setting up the front panel so those ports work, i figured the jack would work in the front as i've never used it. So i finally connect it all but think i may have connected it the wrong way round because i still get no sound from the front, so i take my pc apart again and change the wires round after finding the correct configuration on the net! Still i get no sound so i'm like *** is going on so i try one last time on the front and i get sound then i plug my mic into the rear & the sound stops again so now i'm really like *** is going on! So then i try another 30 minutes putting the headphones in the back to get sound & get nothing then i try one last time & it suddenly decides to give me sound again. I dunno *** was wrong with if anything was wrong because it's worked fine up until today and then i get no sound for 3 hours but then it suddenly works from just putting the headphones in the back which i'd tried for the past 3 hours anyway! So i'm going to buy a new sound card tomorrow so this doesn't happen again!
