Questions About FX5200

Thread Starter
I bought a FX5200 256MB PCI card & I wanted to know everyone's OC speeds for this card. Newegg.com is the best by the way.

Also, i had a Radeon 9250 & it seemed to run Need 4 Speed:Most Wanted just a lil bit faster than the FX 5200. But I heard a lot on how you can OC the 5200 quite a bit to get higher performance but im not really seeing a big difference. Stock its 250/400 & OC'd to 293/438 than i start seeing artifacts after that. I've read of ppl OCing higher. Can someone please tell me the problem or cause of me not getting higher speeds. I use the 81.95 forceware drivers & Rivertuner & PowerStrip.

This is also my 1st post. Wassup everyone

Usually the later drivers will not give ure card optimal performance since they are designed for the newer cards. Rather get the Xtreme G 71.20c drivers. I'm using them and they work great. However this varies from card to card. Try getting the 6 series drivers since they should also work well with the FX series GFX cards.
BTW i thin kure card can be flashed to a 5500.. There's a guide somewhere in this site.

Nvidia drivers are a "driver set" that support a bunch of card families.

They should have the latest driver that applies to your card imbedded in it. go ahead and use it.

uninstall the video drivers you have running currently... disable your antivirus software... run the install program.

Good Luck.

Give it a shot. I do still think that u might get optimal performance from older drivers.
