looking for a dc pump

hey im still trying to piece together a w/c setup already have apogee and a polarflo block for my gpu. i am looking to get a single heatercore, 84' cevette? main question is pump, $50 is the most i want to spend and id really prefer a dc pump so will this thing handle cpu and gpu blocks? http://www.dangerdenstore.com/produc...8&cat=0&page=1

Dont buy a pump with a flow rate of less than 300 GPH, it wont be worth it. You can always rig an AC relay switchm its not that hard if you know how to solder. You will not be able to find a DC pump that is worth buying for $50, sorry.

I've heard that before, from what I have heard, the higher the GPH of the pump is, the faster the water flows through. It also depends on the waterblock(s) flow restriction.

i am likely to try the dd mag pump for $50 and if it doesnt cut it sell it on ebay and then buy a hydor or switch to air, i really dont NEED water anyone it just sounds like a fun project.

In reality, water flow will only be 5-6 GPM in a typical watercooling setup. If you have an extremely high-flow block, like the Apogee, then your mileage may vary, but that's how fast a typical system flows. Get a pump with a high head rating, that's what you really want. 10+ feet is what you want.

Yeah spend the extra cash man. It's never worked out for me doing the I'll settle for this now and then get this later...you always end up loosing money and it seems to be exactally the amount you were "saving".

Just remember that any system is only as good as its worst part. Just as you wouldn't buy a $400 CPU then buy PC 2100 RAM to go with it, don't buy decent blocks and then pair them with a pump that isn't going to cut it.

Keep shopping around on ebay and forums and you will find yourself a pump deal. It wil be worth the wait.

very much appreciate the warnings but i think i will likely try the little dc first, as $75-80 just defeats the purpose for me. i have read some decent reviews about the pump even one saying it was used for cpu/gpu/chipset. its not really to lower temps anyway, just a project. if it really blows someone on ebay will buy it for most if not all the money i spent, i make money off ebay half the time. i may get a hydor later on just to test the temps difference anyway.
