How I Cheated and got 3 Degrees Celcius Temps - Page 2

Hey, those are some impressive temps.

Do you think your AM score should be a little higher though? I have a similar system to you, less the graphics card, and get approximately the same score. I think I get like 76,000. Is 80k about where a 7800GT OC is at? *shrug* just wondering.

To tell you the truth its my pqi ram that wont clock above 400mhz (cheapo) and my unstable PSU that refuses to hold teh 12v rail at a stable voltage, so those two combined wont allow me to go any higher. I have to underclock my vid card a little as to not stress the power supply. Gonna replace that soon, but I poor for now lol

just an update, today i was just reading the forums and suddenly my computer freaks out. Alarms go off, pop up warnings come up.

My CPU was too cold.

The msi utility has a lower limit to the temps at 0 C, and it hit it.

Then the water cooling display on the front started going off as well. The liquid was -5 C and was setting off that alarm as well. I actually had to turn down the fan to get it to shut the **** up.

What a great problem to have.

My friend has a hole in the side of his freezer that pumps air right into his radiator >.> It's pretty nuts, his whole case is cold to the touch.

We don't really hang out much other than during the summer, because we work the same place during summers. He lives pretty far away.

But you inspired me, and I did this myself. Now I don't have water cooling, and the intake into the HS lowers my cpu load temps by up to 40C.

Yeah.

Hey Tonymontana1187,
Quick question do you have your IHS on or did you remove it?
I am doing basically the same thing you are, and I can't get my temps below 14C idle, I am think that removing my IHS would drop them to the temps you are getting.
