New Build - Parts Compatible?

post #1 of 16
Thread Starter
Hey guys...

So I want to build a gaming rig in December, in India (Mumbai to be exact). And I need some help because I don't quite know if these parts are compatible. I have a $1500 budget. I hope it's enough...

Oh I have some basic knowledge of building a gaming rig, because, well... I'm only 15 years of age... lol...

EXTRA DETAILS:
I am currently living in Uganda, and there are no shops that sell good parts... So I would also like to know if these parts are durable...

Anyway here is what I'm thinking of: (will they be compatible? )

Case: Thermaltake - VH9000BWS - Xaser VI MX Series - Mid Tower –RS 6625 or $141

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition – 3.2 GHz - RS 13300 or $284

CPU Cooling: Stock Processor Cooling

Motherboard: Asus M4A78T-E AMD 790GX Chipset - RS 9200 or $197

RAM: Corsair - TR3X6G1600C9 - (3 X 2GB DDR3 1600MhZ) – RS 10500 or $224

HDD: Western Digital - SATA 2 - 500 GB (32 MB Buffer) - RS 2750 or $59

PSU: Corsair - 750W Power Supply (CMPSU750TX) - RS 8200 or $175

Graphics Card: Sapphire - ATI HD 5850 - 1 GB DDR5 - RS 17650 or $377

Thermal Grease: OCZ Freeze – RS 475 or $10

Keyboard: Logitech - G15 Gaming Keyboard – RS 4400 or $94

Mouse: Logitech - G5 Laser – RS 2900 or $62

DVD Drive: Samsung - 20x SATA SH-203B – RS 1200 or $26

================================================== ===
Are these prices overpriced for the Indian Market? Or are they correct?
================================================== ===

THANKS TO ANYONE WHO HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the prices seem really good as well

I like it. Love the keyboard and PSU choice, by the way!

Oh! And would you recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) as a good choice?

Always gonna recommend x64 to anyone with more than 4 gigs of RAM.

64 is the way that OSes are going, so it's best to make the switch now.
Get it, Win7 is great

Current case choice is OK, but the Cooler Master HAF 932 costs just a bit more, if you would be able to get that it's a nice upgrade.

I would change your Ram that is a triple channel kit. It will run in single channel with AMD. Get a 2x2 kit so you can run in dual channel other then that good to go.
