they already wrote back.... they sent me pictures of their settings and i cant even start windows with it... and they basically told me if im not happy with the board i can **** off....
so much for the support they offer after half a year of detailed error reporting...

that was definitely my last GB product.

lets hope i can get a RMA on the ram which seems to be the problem since the GB support can run the exact same system without any problems as it seems.

I've sent them another message again:

Quote:
Dear Gigabyte, here you can find my OC:

http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1421962

As you see, I have my RAM @ 1144Mhz If I put the RAM Multiplier 1 notch up, the system is unstable and it makes my PC crash all the time.... It must be a motherboard bios problem, because I have tried RAM on other PC, and it worked fine @ 4Ghz on other boards.

Could you please help me?

I do get BSOD's and also PC hangs black screen then recovers AMD driver, or it simply gets stuck at "Loading Windows" and it wont load windows...

Thank you,
Kevin.
Btw Kromar, if you get new RAM, let me know if it is stable close to 1600Mhz at 4Ghz, maybe could be my RAM, but I highly doubt it.

i will let you know for sure if i get new RAM.
GB will probably tell you something similar like they told me:
Quote:
The desired rating is unable to pass Prime95 blend test. It will have one core failed after around 10 minutes.
Suggest this end user to lower his OC setting or change other system components if he feels such a frustrated using our board.
also, the first sentence is confusing because they also sent me pictures where they passed the 8k FFT (which always crashed my ram) but 1 core errored after 10min? thats still in the 1024k FFT and when i see the voltage they used for the CPU-NB (1.475) and CPU (1.55) then its definitely a ram thing. but it looks like they dont even set the Vdimm to 1.65 but running it @1.6v which probably causes the error... still very confusing answers i get from them. they clearly have no idea how to stress or test a system without exact instructions....

I've been an owner for a while have have learned alot from reading posts. I unlocked my 550BE to 4 cores after installing a mugen2... need to increase the voltage 3 nothches (+0.05v) to get it stable. Ran it through prime95 and the Stability test on AMD Overdrive... for a couple hours.

But now and again I get a lockup on POST when it's detecting the dvd-writer (SATA)... the hard drive seem to detect fine just the dvd-rom has issues since unlocking cores.

So I figured since the CPU seems to be stable (yes need a longer test) I wouldn't need more volts on the CPU... and It's the sourthbridge that controls periphrasis maybe I should increase the volts there... but then I was thinking... the only thing that changed was the extra cores why is the DVD being affected... that the whole point of the ACC to separate out the variables.

I also update to F8L bios (F8C) hoping to fix the issue... no change.

So I'm hoping for some logical advice from the many experienced overclockers on here... to help a hack like me.

That's some weird ***** out there...

I am pretty happy with my motherboard, it does some nice OC @ 3.8Ghz and @ 4Ghz too, eventhough my RAM issue, I still don't know if it's a BIOS or a RAM issue, waiting on Kromar to tell me if his new RAM works fine at 4Ghz on 1600MHz or close to 1600 at is rated timings.

where is your drive connected? in the SATA2(blue) or GSATA2(white) ports? if its in the white ones, try connecting it to the blue ones.
also have you increased your CPU-NB voltage a bit? my x3 needed a bit more there when unlocked.
your system is @stock otherwise? no overclocking?
