Is this memory compatible with my HP?

Thread Starter
It's time for the holidays and I am looking to buy two sticks of 256 for my gaming, and I've checked out the specs. It is 168-pin DIMM, unbuffered, PC133 RAM. My father, who just happens to have some money on his DELL card, decided that he was purchase me two sticks of RAM if I wanted it off the Dell site. Here's the link to what I think may be compatible. Tell me if I'm wrong:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...ctlisting.aspx

Please reply ASAP!

Thanks.

Yeah dude the one from Dell is a total rip-off. Buy from Newegg and save $$$. And yes, as long as they are 168-pin sticks then they are compatible with your motherboard.

The reason I am getting it from there is because my father has tons of credit on his DELL card and has nothing to spend it on. It fills out all the specifications, I'm pretty sure. Does anyone feel differently?

RAM (standard) 192 MB PC100
Maximum 512 MB (2x256 MB DIMM)
Speed 100 MHz synchronous
Sockets 4 – 168 pins DIMMs
Size 32, 64, 128 and 256 MB DIMMs
Free DIMM Sockets 0
Pairs Required Yes
Type Supported SDRAM, 100 MHz, Intel PC SDRAM unbuffered DIMM specification, revision 1.0 compliant

Does this mean I should only buy PC100...coulda sworn that I also could use pc133...

If he has that much credit then just get something useful and not RAM, go buy a stick of 256 RAM for like $30, you can get 1GB of RAM for that price elsewhere.

Not sure what else you could get from Dell thats worth while if 1 stick of 256RAM is $100

You sure it will be compatible? If so, then I'm going to get it.
