Best case for quiet computing

I want my next system to be 100% quiet (or as quiet as I can get it with out spending big $$$$$). I will be going all zalman for the heatsinks/fans, unless the stock fans are quiet. I was thinking of ether the Antec P180 or the Lian-Li PCv1000. What do you guys think?

P180, it's got foam insulation in it to cut down on noise. Also, the hard drive mounts are silicone to cut dwon on vibration. I'm getting one around X-mas, I suggest you do so as well.

Totally agree. It's a super quiet case if you configure it with the right fans. I took the stock fans out and just put some high flow ones in because I wasn't too concerened with sound. I just love the looks of the case.

Antec P180 is awesome man, if I only had more money I'd get it. I've heard and read that it is extremely silent and great looking too.

P180 all the way man, friend of mine has it that thing is made from thought to finish to be silent.

Lian Li's can be noisy because of the thin aluminum panels sometimes...

When I was looking at it, it looked like only the top hard drive bays had teh sound damping rubber washerrs in them. Someone who reviewed it on newegg said that you could not use these bays with a card like the 7800GT as the card would hit the drives. 1: Is this true? 2: Could I put 2x Raptors in the bottom bay with out a lot of noise?

you dont technically need a new case to make your computer really really quiet.. just try and upgrade all the fans in ur current comp.. DONT FORGET THE CPU FAN!!! its usually the loudest in my opinion =]

I must agree that the P180 is about the quietest case out the right now.

The P180 is very quiet, but I've heard so many mixed reviews of it.

Can't really argue with a Lian Li though, the build quality is awesome (I have the PC-V1100, and its just plain amazing looking). But of course, the cost is up there.

The Antec P180 is a good quiet case, but its kinda big so if you want a smaller case that costs less, go with the Antec SLK1650B, or Super Lanboy.
