Order Issue Today For A i7 920 D0 CPU

Hi Ben/TankGuys,

I ordered a Intel i7 920 D0 from you today and everything went smoothly until your websites software went to verify my Visa credit card. It said my credit card information was invalid. My bank says the funds have gone out so I would appreciate it if you could please investigate what happened.

On a more interesting note, I plan on modifying my Asetek LightSpeed phase-change system to cool this i7 920 D0 CPU at some stage. I know they go well with just air or water cooling but a little phase-change can't hurt either!

thanks

Katanaman

Did your order end up going through? I see a new one for that chip, so I was curious.

In any case, your card was likely declined the first time. Usually this is because of an address verification failure, but it can be other things as well.

When we ping your bank to verify the card, the bank only gets told that we want to bill card X for amount Y - so the bank puts a hold on those funds until we actually "capture" them with that authorization. Unfortunately, if our system declines the transaction (heck, even if your own bank does) the bank *still* puts a hold on those funds, until our declination request makes its way through the system. It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 days, and unfortunately it's 100% out of our control - it's just a bank thing that we didn't create

When you call your bank, Harry J ServiceRep either doesn't have the information available showing that the charge was declined, or he is clueless, and just sees the hold and assumes it's a charge - even though it was declined and we didn't take a penny.

At any rate, if your order did go through, great. If not, let me know, and I'll look into finding out why it was declined
