Tygon Tubing Questions

Thread Starter
Awhile ago got some tubing off ebay, got here and used it and it works great, then i noticed most watercooler retailers online sell a different formulation of tygon then i have. The one i got is b-44-4x and the one everybody else has it r-3603. Questions is: Is it worth upgrading? The tygon tubing i got is very flexible, especially compared to Home Depot tubing. I know the formula i got is used for food and the r-3603 is for medical.
Thanks

As long as it has a 1/8" sidewall thickness, you should be set with either.

The 3603 tubing will be less suseptable to chemical damage from additives in the water. The composition of the rubber is slightly different on the 2 tubes. The food grade tubing isnt designed to resist corrosive materials as well.

you mean 1/8" wall? 1/2" ID x 3/4" OD... theres 2 walls when measuring the ID/OD of the tubing

but theres no point in upgrading or spending the extra cash on new tubing if what you have already is working fine for you
