My first overclock and looking for any suggestions

Thread Starter
This is a great website, I read as much as I could on overclocking here but Im still a little confused by somethings. Anyways as I stated this is my first overclock and Im open for any suggestions. All of my system info is below and here is what I have everything set at in the bios.

Hammer Fid------------Start Up
CPU Voltage-----------1.525 V
Dimm Voltage----------2.9 V
Chipset Voltage--------1.65 V
HT Freq---------------4X

Ive had these settings for a month or so and never had any problems and I ran Prime95 for 9 hours with no problems. So should I keep it where its at or try to get more out of it? If I should try for more what should I do?
TIA for any help
LL

Looks like a nice start, what are the temps - full and load?, If they're relatively low you should beable to get a bit more out of the CPU. Also might want to use Prime95 for a few hours to make sure everything is working right.

Okay, work out your max HTT rating from the motherboard by seeing how far you can get with low CPU multipliers and Ram Speed.
When you've found this, work out your max CPU speed by setting the Ram on a low divider and then bring your Memory speed up as far as possible when you've found this.
Remember to do stability checks at each stage either by using Prime95 or OCCT

Remember to keep your CPU temps under 55°C and pref. under 50°C

He's on stock cooling so it might be hard for him to get much more if he's not already hitting those temps. Atleast until he found himself a better HSF or even went to watercooling.

My CPU temps are about 33C during normal use and then I ran Aquamark3 and the highest the temp got to was 42C. So do you think I still have some room for more overclocking or should I wait to get some better cooling?

I'm not sure if AM3 will run your processor at 100%. It's best to use Prime95 to make sure you are at maximum CPU usage and get your temps then.

Also, I think you can go a lot higher too, you should try loosening your ram timings to 2.5-3-3-7 and boost FSB to around 265-270, and drop the HTT to x3, I am pretty sure you will be stable at that. if you arent though, use a small divider .
