Odd temperatures

Thread Starter
So I've overclocked my i7 920 to 3.8GHz but the individual core temps are a bit weird.

Core 0 runs about 73C at full load, 1 and 2 about 67C and 3 at about 64C. Now 1, 2 and 3 I can understand, but a 9 degree difference makes me a bit suss.

I took the heatsink off expecting to see a big gap in the TIM but it was mostly in a circle in the centre as I'd gone for the pea application when putting it on originally.

Any thoughts on why and how to solve it? Under 70C across the board would be nice.

You can try to reseat a few times and see if you can get it better. I have seen 10C differences in the past, though. I just chalk it up to QC.
