Hello Everyone!
I am actually still using this card in my PC (two in SLI actually) not exact same since one is factory OC (BFG Tech brand)
the current games I play seem to run fine except for Portal 2 sometimes has artifacts or some other issue (think it was black screen) and defiance seems to be a bit choppy (not sure if it is net though)
Crysis 2 seemed ok, haven't played in a while so I not sure of the video setting, but think it is mid to high.
I am thinking of trying Crysis 3 also.
MassEffect 1 and 2 seems to run fine also.
I was hoping to get some of your thoughts on an upgrade. (so not sure if I am in the right place)
I was thinking of upgrading to a Zotac GTX 760 but not sure if it is worth it with my current system as I found someone saying that it might be better to stay with hardware from a similar generation.

PC specs:
Intel Xeon 5460 (quad-core)
8GB Nanya DDR2 800
BFG 9600GT (2 in SLI)
700W (ish) PSU

is there any facts to this claim that older hardware will not benifit much from a video card upgrade like this?
thank you everyone that is able to offer some help!
and those of you that can not offer help, thank you for reading (I would have said something mean to be funny but I dont know you that well) smile.gif

Just thought I'd inquire about this...

This here's a GPU-Z screenshot of my 9600gt. I noticed that the Bus Interface section states "PCIe x16 2.0 @ x2 2.0". This value remains fixed and does not change with full gpu load during games. That said, I have not noticed any suffering in framerates and the card's performance seems to be on par with a typical 9600gt. I've re-seated card, cleaned contacts, motherboard has the latest BIOS , cleared CMOS, no difference... messing with the PCIe options, I got GPU-Z to display @ x1 2.0... yet still no drop at all in performance...

I'm wondering if this is just a software bug and no real issue?
